Once you have found a property that you wish to bid on, you will need to arrange your finances and ensure that everything is in place for exchanging contracts if the property is entered under unconditional auction conditions. Likewise, if it is entered under conditional you should ensure that once your bid is successful you will be able to exchange contracts within 28 days.

To bid at the auction:

Please arrive as early as possible in order for you to register with us, by bringing identification and the means to pay the required monies should you be successful. Once you have registered you will be given a buyer number.

When the auctioneer comes to your lot, make sure that you can be seen by him. Raise your hand with your buyer’s number if possible, the auctioneer will acknowledge your bid. If you are the highest bid on the evening the auctioneer will confirm this and read your number out and confirm whether or not you have been successful in purchasing the property.

If you have been successful and are not looking to purchase another property you will be asked to come to the side room where contracts will need to be signed and monies paid over.

To bid whilst not attending at the auction:

If you are unable to attend the auction, please bring identification and complete the ‘non-attending bidder’ form available at your local participating office. On this form is a section where you can state the bid you are prepared to go up to and this can be left with the auctioneer to bid on your behalf at the auction. Alternatively you can arrange for a friend or colleague to attend on your behalf, likewise, we can arrange for a telephone bid if so required.

Please ensure that any person bidding on your behalf has the necessary way to pay any monies on the night, or that, if you are successful, that you are able to pay the required monies within 24 hours. Contracts will be signed on your behalf by the person authorised by yourself to do that and the process following sale will continue as normal.

If you have any queries at all, please do not hesitate to contact us.
